Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin almost single-handedly brought back over-the-top sparkle and studs last season. For fall 2009, he showed a bevy of blinged-out pieces: strong-shouldered jackets, shorter-than-short dresses, liquidlike tops, and skinny-leg trousers. To offset the tough-as-nails effect, he dreamed up glam-rock looks in angelic white, adorned with sparkling Swarovski-crystal studs. Disco fever never looked so chic.
